Stockport Grammar Junior School once again had several representatives in the semi-finals of EuroTalk’s annual junior language challenge.
The competition challenges children across the British Isles to learn foreign languages, with Emma Winder, Katarina Sandall, Grace Howson-Reed, Hannah Hartas-Pearson and Wolodymr Krywonos all gaining places in the regional semi-final after successfully learning Italian for the first round.
The semi-final provided a much tougher task with the boys and girls being challenged in Japanese. The children showed perseverance and commitment – not to mention impressive language skills – throughout, and all came away highly commended from the competition after just missing out on qualifying for the national final.
Emma speaks for all of our competitors when she says: “It was a hard, but exciting, challenge!”
