1st XV through to county cup semi-final

Rugby first XV

The 1st XV rugby squad moved a step closer to the county cup final after defeating Fallibroome Academy 24 -18 in last week’s quarter-final.

James Booth led the scoring with two tries, and adding to the points were fellow try scorers Eddie Ardern and Jamie Mills, along with Mark Goodstadt who scored two conversions.

Impressive displays came from throughout the squad, but Sam Fraser in the centre and a man of the match performance from James Flynn in the back row particularly stood out.

Elsewhere, this weekend saw some of Stockport Grammar School’s younger squads pick up some high scoring victories in their fixtures against Wilmslow High. The U15s, U14s and U13s won 36-5, 81-7 and 50-14 respectively.
