Nursery children treated to Greater Manchester Police visit

Nursery pupils with police officers

Boys and girls in the nursery were treated to a visit from Greater Manchester Police last week when four officers from Hazel Grove police station came to tell the children all about how they help to keep them safe.

After talking to the nursery pupils about what they should do if they ever become separated from their parents, the officers – PC Ed Palmer and PCSOs Martin Heys, Sarah Jane and Jonny Ackerley – let the children try on their hats and vests before demonstrating how the police use their batons and handcuffs.

The boys and girls were then taken outside for a tour of the van, with the brave volunteers even enjoying being put in the back before returning to class to draw what they’d seen to add to their police display.
