Artists display their work at annual GCSE and A-level exhibition

Sixth Form pupil exhibits her art

The dreary weather did nothing to dissuade the large number of pupils, parents, staff and governors who attended this year’s annual GCSE and A-level art exhibition.

Once again, visitors were treated to a huge variety of work that provided evidence of the high level of artistic ability many of our pupils have and, judging by the overwhelmingly positive comments made on the night, the exhibition was very well received.

It is no exaggeration to say that for most of the pupils the show is the culmination of two years work and, for many, marks the transition from GCSE to A-level or from A-level on to university.

It would be unfair to single out any one individual but for Ellie Broster of the upper sixth form, the evening was particularly memorable when the highly acclaimed artist Mark Demsteader, a major influence on Ellie’s work, arrived at the show!

The work will remain on display at school until the third week of June.
