U15s cricketers are Cheshire Cup champions

Under-15 Cheshire cricket cup champions

Our under-15 cricketers have been crowned Cheshire Cup champions after beating Altrincham Grammar by seven wickets in the final.

The win, described as a great team performance, caps four superb years for the squad who have won nine of their 11 games this season.

The team have excelled all over, but the main strength has been the batting wih Simon Hardy, Aaron McRoberts, Ben Haigh and captain Mike Schofield all scoring half centuries during the season.

Mike is also this year’s winner of the prestigious Cricketer Cup, awarded to the school’s most promising player. He has scored over 500 runs with five half centuries and a top score of 98, as well as taking several wickets and leading the catching and fielding statistics. With a debut for the 1st XI already under his belt, Mike is expected to soon become a regular for the Senior School’s top side.

Congratulations to all of the boys involved in the cup victory and good luck to the U13s who are also contesting a Cheshire Cup final at Sandbach on Thursday.
