Harvest festival celebrated by Junior School

Pupils with harvest festival donations

Pupils in the Junior School celebrated their harvest festival this week with a special assembly.

Led by the head boy and girl, the assembly saw the children perform plays the Little Red Hen and the Enormous Turnip in front of the parcels of food which had kindly been donated by pupils and their parents. Rev Liz Leaver, the school chaplain, then led the children in prayer to remind them of those in the world who have to go without food and water.

Later in the day, the year three classes delivered the parcels to elderly people’s homes in Stockport, with the remainder being donated to local homeless charity the Wellspring.
