Junior cross country runners finish well in IAPS competition

Iaps cross country runners

Our under-11s boys’ and girls’ cross country teams travelled to Stonyhurst last week for the annual area seven competition.

The course is always a challenge as it takes runners around the outskirts of a golf course with some tough hills and rough ground.

For the girls, Charlotte Jones, the captain, was first to finish in 35th place, with Daisy Hanson coming 40th, Emma Coghlan following her in 41st, Alice Kirker finishing 47th, Francessca Cooke coming 49th and Ellie Carter taking 60th place.

The boys ran a longer course, with Joe Davidson leading them, finishing in 7th position, followed by Scott Phillips in 16th, Oscar Clarke-Williams in 33rd, Andrew Corcoran in 39th, Alex Curwen in 60th and James Nichols in 73rd place.

Well done to all runners for their efforts and we look forward to seeing their improvements next year.
