Rehearsals under way for Junior School musical

Year 6 musical promo

Scripting and composing has been completed for what will be the first ever full length original musical to be performed at Stockport Grammar School.

This exciting project saw collaboration between Junior School Drama teacher Mrs Alison Sullivan and upper sixth form pupil Oliver Mills.

Taking inspiration from writers such as Agatha Christie, the story is a murder mystery set in the 1920s at the heart of the jazz age.

The cast of over 50 year six pupils will play a variety of humorous characters from noble gentry to below stairs staff who are all present at an old English manor house for a dinner party that soon turns to disaster. Production will be overseen by both of the writers, along with Mrs Ruth Cole, who will take the role of musical director.

Rehearsals are under way for the two all-singing, all-dancing performances that will take place in the Senior School main hall on 28th and 29th March 2012.
