Amnesty International lecture inspires sixth form debates

Gordon Fyffe Amnesty International talk

The work of Amnesty International was the subject of a talk given to our upper sixth form pupils by Gordon Fyffe last week.

Gordon outlined the history of the organisation and presented case studies where Amnesty International had fought tirelessly for the rights and, ultimately, the release of prisoners of conscience across the globe.

Lively debates between the pupils ended the session, with questions on whether the death penalty can ever be justified and if an evil dictator can keep his human rights being among the subjects they discussed.
