Go-karter Matthew has memorable debut season

Go-kart racer Matthew Clayden

Lower sixth go-kart driver Matthew Clayden had a memorable year in the Daytona Manchester InKart Championship, finishing second in the junior class in his first ever season of racing.

The championship is designed to provide a level playing field for experienced adults and advanced juniors to compete against each other. The monthly meetings involve a practice and four qualifying heats, with Matthew gaining an impressive seven podium finishes out of a possible 12 during 2011.

Next season will see Matthew compete as a senior driver where he will be hoping to build upon his brilliant first year in the sport.
