Bake-off helps year three put their maths to good use

Year 3 bakers making crispy cakes

Year three spent last Friday afternoon baking cakes and making mints – all in the name of maths!

The bake-off followed on from the year group’s recent work on weights and measures as part of their Maths lessons and gave the children an example of how they can use their knowledge in a practical situation.

Once the Maths part of the bake-off was over, there was still time left for the children to decorate their cupcakes to take home in the boxes they had made earlier in the day.
