Biologists learn about animal classification at Chester Zoo

Pupils in lesson at Chester Zoo

A day at Chester Zoo helped our second year biologists learn more about the classification of different organisms, focusing in particular on the zoo’s vertebrates.

The annual trip includes an hour long lesson from the zoo’s discovery and learning team, with our pupils gaining some hands-on experience with some of the smaller creatures – both dead and alive!

After the session, the pupils explored the zoo and observed the animals to help them complete tasks on the classification of certain species.
