Our year three children had a brilliant time in the Lake District when they headed up to Grasmere for a couple of days packed full of adventure and discovery.
The two-hour bus journey to the youth hostel was broken up by a lunch stop at Brockholes, a boat trip across Windermere and a visit to see the piranhas and otters at the Lakes Aquarium.
England v France was one of the main attractions for some of the children once they’d arrived at the youth hostel, and the weather stayed fine for our pupils to play outside after dinner before they retired to their rooms for an early night ahead of another busy day.
A filling breakfast prepared the children for a morning walk around Grasmere where they spent their money in the shops on the green, sampled some of the village’s famous gingerbread and visited William Wordsworth’s grave.
After lunch in the park, the pupils filled the bus and headed back to Stockport, exhausted, but with plenty of new memories.
