Now in its second year, the Stockport Grammar School maths challenge was a huge success with 160 year five pupils from local primary schools attending the competition for a session of fun mathematics.
We had to run two sessions for this year’s competition due to popular demand, with 18 teams battling it out in the morning and 22 in the afternoon.
The challenge, created by our Maths department, involved a mixture of rounds to test the brain and to get the teams working together.
Well done to Heyes Lane Primary School who won the morning session and to Park Road Academy Primary School who came first in the afternoon. And congratulations to all teams that took part – the standard of maths and teamwork were fantastic.
