Juniors start sports day with own Olympic opening ceremony!

Junior pupils with own Olympic torch

Our Junior School sports day began with an Olympic twist – with a procession into the hall and the lighting of the school’s very own Olympic cauldron to officially open the games.

Once the ceremony was over, pupils headed back to their classrooms for some special Olympic activities which included poetry, quizzes and sequencing pictures and dates from previous games to complete an Olympic timeline.

The afternoon was taken up by the sports day, which included an ancient Olympic-style race complete with chariots!

A big thank you to the house captains for organising their house before the opening ceremony.
