Infant artists design a Hundertwasserhaus!

Pupils in front of Hundertwasser display

Boys and girls in the infants were inspired to design their very own Hundertwasser-style house after enjoying a lesson on the Austrian artist given by our Senior School head of Art Mr Richard Davies.

Mr Davies’s session taught Mrs Scott’s Y2RS class all about Friedensreich Hundertwasser’s styles, and they were fascinated by his famous Hundertwasserhaus in Vienna – an outrageously colourful house featuring uneven floors, trees growing from inside and a roof covered with earth and grass.

After learning all about him, the children painted their own Hundertwasserhaus – which is now proudly on display for everyone to see on the classroom wall.

Our Infant children have learned about other famous artists including Salvador Dalí and LS Lowry throughout the year, and a gallery of some of the magnificent work they created last term is available on our Facebook page.
