Old Stops buy masks for school’s hockey players

The school’s hockey teams now have access to 10 top-of-the-range hockey masks thanks to a £500 donation from the Old Stopfordians’ Association.

The donation came from money raised through the association’s 250 club after committee member Rick Carroll attended an under-14s tournament and discussed the safety aspects of the game with teacher in charge of hockey Miss Sharon Withington.

The committee agreed to fund the purchase and, as a result of the OSA’s donation, our hockey squads now have access to 10 new clear masks (as pictured above with OSA committee member Tommy Bowden and first XI players) that can be worn by players while defending penalties and short corners

The 250 club is a great opportunity to win a cash prize while contributing towards special purchases for the school. See our 250 club page for the chance to be one of 250 lucky members.

On the pitch, our under-14s squad have discovered who stands in their way of being crowned the best in England following the draw for the finals of the National Schools Championships for Girls.
