MUN team fill Hallam Hall for lunch debate

Mini Model United Nations club

Pupils from throughout the school gathered in a packed Hallam Hall for a lively debate ahead of their first Model United Nations conference of the school year.

Our pupils, taking on roles as diplomats from nations they had previously researched, offered suggestions on how to solve the international problem of the use of torture, taking factors such as the unreliability of information provided under duress into account.

Chaired by members of the lower sixth form and attended by pupils from every year of the Senior School, the debate was both great practice for our more experienced debaters and a fantastic introduction to the activity ahead another year of MUN debates around the country – as well as our own event being held at Stockport Grammar in January 2014.
