Poetry day celebrated with treasure hunt

Poetry treasure hunt

Pupils in the lower school are celebrating National Poetry Day by embarking on a quest for gold on our English department’s poetry treasure hunt.

To find the treasure, pupils have to seek out the poems hidden around school and answer all the questions relating to them – with a bounty of “poetry gold” waiting for them at the end of the trail.

As well as the treasure hunt, pupils are also learning about Japanese haikus in their lessons and – following the poetry day’s theme of water – are creating their own haiku droplets which will cascade down the English department walls over the next few weeks.

Any adventurers who want to join in with the hunt should download the map below, answer the questions and then find an English teacher to be rewarded with their “treasure”!
