Christmas fair raises thousands for school

Young Enterprise Christmas fair stall

An early estimate of the profits from this year’s Christmas fair suggest that our parents’ association raised over £7,000 for charity and school funds on the day.

Over recent years, events like the Christmas fair have helped the Stopfordian Parents’ Association donate thousands of pounds to charity and towards school projects, from toys for our infant children to huge contributions towards new school minibuses and state-of-the-art lighting systems.

Grotto, games and stalls

Santa’s grotto, facepainting and games occupied the younger ones at the fair, while the Salvation Army brass band kept the Christmas shoppers entertained as they browsed our vast array of stalls.

Among the dozens of stallholders were our Young Enterprise teams, who sold Christmas goodies to raise cash to support this year’s projects, and, as previously reported, Junior School pupils Tommie Blashill, Callum Barton and Chester Bowden’s, who sold homemade chocolate jars and raised £284 for Cancer Research UK.
