Kate Mitchell (OS 2012) will be trekking across volcanoes in Guatemala in July 2014 to raise money for Hope for Children, alongside other students from the University of York.
Hope for Children are a UK-based charity who work to provide a sustainable future for children across the world. Some recent work they have undertaken has included empowering street children in India, by educating them, providing them with counselling and helping them to set up their own newspaper, which has reached the attention of national press.
The money that Kate and her group will be raising will go directly to help children in East Africa. Kate’s personal fundraising goal is £2790 and any donation would be greatly appreciated.
