Rugby U12s finish season with 100% record

U12s rugby squad

The school’s U12 rugby XV have completed their season with a 100% record, having won every single one of their 12 games this year.

Saturday’s convincing 33-12 victory over King’s Macclesfield rounded off their outstanding campaign and saw the squad finish with hugely impressive statistics of:

Played Won Drew Lost Points For Points Against Points Difference
12 12 0 0 463 37 426

Performance and team leagues

The team’s record has also cemented their place at the top of both the U12s UK performance and England country leagues, which rank the nation’s school rugby sides by number of wins and win ratios respectively.

“Big team effort”

Team captain and fly-half James Nichols told us how the squad made it through their record-breaking season:

We came under a lot of early pressure on Saturday [against Macclesfield] but our defence was amazing and we pulled through.

Our number eight Max Gilbert is a really strong attacking force and has been one of our best players this season, but it’s been a big team effort and we’re really looking forward to playing in the sevens tournaments after half-term.

Fingers crossed that the team stick together and that we’re all still playing when we’re in the sixth form!
