Pupils from Warren won the Junior School house quiz for a third year in a row after triumphing in this year’s grand final.
Each house was represented by two teams of four – one from year three and four and another from five and six – who all had their fingers on the buzzers as they faced quizmaster Mr Johnson’s questions on general knowledge, Stockport Grammar and sport.
Points were also up for grabs in a physical challenge after each round, all while the teams were being cheered on by an audience made up of the rest of the year groups and the visiting Senior School house captains.
After the house captains totted up each team’s points, the final scores were:
- Warren: 49 points
- Arden: 33 points
- Nicholson: 25 points
- Vernon: 25 points
Even though Warren lifted the shield, all the teams were winners as their scores were added to their house points totals, which go towards earning pupils small rewards throughout the school year.
The quiz is in its third year after the Senior School house captains came up with the idea to give our younger pupils the chance to expand their general knowledge and answer questions in a competitive, but fun, environment.
