The Little Mermaid, presented by Stockport Grammar Junior School, was a sellout success and provided its audiences with a vibrant end to the spring term.
Featuring colourful costumes and famous songs like Under the Sea, the show was adapted from Disney’s 2008 Broadway production which tells the tale of young mermaid Ariel, who longs to leave her ocean home – and her fins – behind and live in the world above.
The production, directed by Mrs Alison Sullivan and Mrs Ruth Cole, included standout performances from stars Holly Buckley, Callum Barton and Caitlin Cutts alongside a wonderful supporting cast of every child in year six.
A full cast and crew list is available in the programme.
“A delight to watch”
The year group were the first children to join the Stockport Grammar nursery seven years ago, and nursery manager Miss Carla Peake was overcome with emotion:
What a fantastic production! I’m so proud of the girls and boys – both of what they have achieved and how they have grown up.
They were all wonderful in this show. It was a delight to watch!
We also received plenty of fantastic audience reviews on our Facebook page.
The most professional school production I have ever seen! All that hard work has paid off and the costumes were amazing. Well done to everyone involved.
Absolutely amazing year sixes! My year one and two children were really inspired by you. They’ve already picked the roles they would have liked to perform. One wanted to be a crazy chef and one, the star… Ariel. Well done guys!
What a fantastic show. The cast were brilliant, well done. My girls loved it.
