The former industrial features of Castlefield basin made for a superb environment in which our newest group of A-level artists could sketch, before they moved to the city’s Northern Quarter to capture the area’s graffitied walls and alternative appearance.

A final was spent drawing and photographing modern developments on the waterfront of Salford Quays, with the contrast between the Victorian canals and the brand new buildings supplying some valuable source material.
