Our pupils have a choice of over 200 clubs and societies to take part in outside of the classroom – and this term’s listings are now available online.
We encourage all our new pupils to try a wide range of clubs when they attend our activities fair early in their first year. Whether they’re sporty, musical, dramatic, thoughtful, competitive, curious caring or creative, there is always something to inspire boys and girls of all ages.
Our extracurricular provision was judged to be outstanding in the school’s most recent inspection by the Independent Schools Inspectorate.
Brand new clubs for this year include:
- craft club
- feminism society
- jewellery making
- Symposium (fortnightly talks on the arts)
- squash ladder
- triathlon training
- waterpolo club
- table tennis
- girls’ football
New music clubs this year include beginner brass group, guitar group, junior percussion ensemble, senior percussion ensemble and grade six-plus theory class.

Climbing coach Mr Mike Pinder, vice chair of Mountain Training England, is one of many specialist members of staff who helps our children open the door to a life-long passion.
His climbing club has been renamed the climbing and adventure club, and as a holder of instructional awards in rock climbing, summer and winter mountain walking, kayaking, canoeing, sailing and mountain biking, Mr Pinder is able to offer instruction to our pupils beyond the school climbing wall.
Specialist dance teacher Mrs Abi Downing now offers Strictly Sixth Form, dance fit and street jazz clubs for pupils interested in everything from ballroom to street dance.
Mr David Varey is British Academy of Fencing affiliated in sabre, epee and foil, and coached 2012 Olympic pentathlon silver medallist, Samantha Murray, from age 11 to 16.
He has recently added archery coaching to his repertoire, and both sports are now available to Senior and Junior School pupils free of charge.
Junior extracurricular activities
Junior School children also have dozens of clubs to choose from, including the new circus skills and computer coding clubs.
Swimming, archery, canoeing and climbing are some of the activities that take advantage of the first-class facilities in the Senior School, while our Junior School sports stars can now train all-year round on our brand new all-weather artificial surface.
Full club listings can be found on our Junior School extracurricular activities page.
