Harvest donations help Stockport’s less fortunate

Those in need of food in Stockport have benefited from our Junior School pupils’ generous Harvest festival donations.

Boys and girls from year five delivered food parcels to residents living in local sheltered housing, with the remainder being donated to Stockport charity the Wellspring to provide lunches for the town’s homeless.

During a Harvest festival assembly featuring a special performance from six year two pupils (pictured), school chaplain the Rev Liz Leaver also explained to the children exactly how their donations will help those less fortunate than themselves.

Mrs Leaver is also collecting food and warm clothing for the Wellspring from Senior School pupils.

Any donations of coffee, sugar, biscuits, chocolate and tinned meat, fruit and vegetables, fleeces and sleeping bags should be made to the religious studies office by Wednesday 8th October.
