MUN: debaters scoop conference awards

MUN Chile delegation

Eight of our Model United Nations (MUN) debaters won awards, including a prestigious outstanding delegate prize, at a recent conference involving over 450 pupils from 61 schools.

Acting as diplomats from Mexico, Togo and Chile, pupils discussed world issues from their researched country’s viewpoint – with two of our delegations being commended for their performances in the general assembly debate.

Leah Allcock was one of just 13 winners of an outstanding delegate award at the conference held at Cheadle Hulme, while seven other Stockport Grammar pupils also received prizes:

As well as regularly attending conferences around the country, our pupils also take part in smaller debates at lunch and after school which give younger debaters the chance to try the activity.
