Our U13s have qualified for the final of the Smile independent schools netball cup after a thrilling 26-23 win against Brentwood.
The girls came from behind to win the semi-final in front of a big crowd of pupils, parents and staff in the school sports hall.
They will now face Berkhamsted in the final at Redbridge Sports and Leisure Centre in Essex – a fantastic achievement in Stockport Grammar’s first ever year in the competition!
Grit and determination
PE teacher Mrs Katrina Wilkinson was full of praise for the squad:
It was a fantastic effort from all the players who showed grit and determination to the very end.
We’d like to say a big thanks to netball coach Paul Harper for his guidance and support throughout the season. The hard work and commitment from the squad, who have been training up to four times per week, has paid off and we are delighted to see them reach this final stage.
Redbridge here we come!
Our finalists are:
- Mia Addison
- Phoebe Christodoulou

The girls defeated Bromsgrove 38-20, Withington 36-27 and Bedford 35-17 to progress to semi-finals, and have already won one trophy this year after finishing as champions of the Condover Hall tournament.
Amazing week of sport
The girls’ win came in an amazing week of sport at Stockport Grammar which also saw our hockey 1st XI be crowned champions of England and our U11 footballers qualify for the national finals of the Independent Schools Football Association seven-a-side tournament.
Our rugby 1st XV have also tasted success this February, qualifying for March’s NatWest Schools Vase semi-finals to be held at Allianz Park, home of Premiership club Saracens.
