Chefs from top Cheshire restaurant Grill on the Edge are joining us again to judge the final of our school Masterchef competition.
Six of the school’s best young cooks are through to the final after their two-course meals impressed their food technology teachers in the semi-final.
Masterchef 2015 finalists
Our finalists are:
- Lucy Snell
- Isabella Elms
- Lilliana Ashton
- Natalie Bennett
- Ilani Patel
- Asha Mistry
They will all cook their meals again in May for the chefs from the Grill on the Edge who will offer pupils expert advice and choose this year’s champion.
As well as winning the Masterchef trophy and a £75 voucher for the restaurant, our champions often find their dish on the chef’s daily specials board when they claim their prize!
Chris Corcoran is our reigning champion after cooking oven-roasted pork tenderloin in a creamy truffle sauce followed by treacle sponge with custard in 2014’s competition.
Felix Roland won the lower school prize for his pecan-crusted salmon with sweet potato and sunblushed tomato mash followed by a summer fruit crumble.
Bake Off’s Luis picks school star bakers
School Masterchef comes one month after our house bake off competition, judged by Great British Bake Off finalist Luis Troyano.
Luis picked Megan King and Charlotte O’Hara as our star bakers and offered advice and hands-on support to help our pupils keep their cool.
