Rugby: U13s are Cheshire champions!

U13 rugby Cheshire cup champions

A last-second conversion saw our rugby U13s lift the Cheshire cup after a nail-biting win against St Ambrose College.

Andrew Corcoran’s winning points added to Seb Walker’s try with the last play of the game to secure an amazing 19-18 victory.

Earlier tries scored by Oscar Elvin and Seb set up the thrilling finale against an excellent St Ambrose side who our boys had already beaten 36-35 during the regular season.

Birkenhead sevens and national recognition

The Cheshire cup was the boys’ second trophy win of the month after they won the Birkenhead School sevens earlier in March.

Max Gilbert and Seb from the side received national recognition too when the Independent Schools RFC selected them for their Dublin touring squad.

Four older players have also been in action for their county over Easter.

Alex Brooks, Eddie Parry, Josh Doyle and Max Wood were all chosen for the Cheshire U15s side who have beaten Yorkshire and Kent over the break.
