Retirements and reunion BBQ

Over 200 Old Stopfordians and current and former staff attended this year’s Retirements & Summer Reunion barbecue on Saturday 27th June 2015.

The event marked a 10 year reunion for the Class of 2005 and an opportunity for guests to say goodbye to members of staff set to retire from Stockport Grammar School at the end of the school year, including; classics teacher Mr Bird, psychology teacher Mrs Braude, chemistry technician Mrs Lowe, head of geography Mr Howarth, assistant head (admissions and operations) Mr Wallington, and our longest serving member of staff, geography teacher Mr Martin.

The school was also approached by former head girl Lisa Bricknell nee Morris (OS 1992) to mark 30 years since the Class of 1992 joined Stockport Grammar senior school.

The event welcomed Old Stops and former staff from all generations as far back as 1945. Many marked the occasion as an opportunity for individual year group reunions and as a chance to offer well wishes to retiring members of staff.

Guests were treated to fantastic weather and the opportunity to explore the new facilities the School has to offer.

We hope to welcome many more Old Stops back to Stockport Grammar School to mark the centenary year of the Hallam site in 2016.
