At the start of the summer holidays, 29 of our intrepid fourth year pupils set off to Paris with the aim of improving their language skills while broadening their cultural appreciation.
During a five-night stay in the French capital pupils stayed in groups of two or three with French families, all of whom commented on how polite and enthusiastic their guests had been. On two mornings to further immerse themselves in the French senior school culture, the pupils attended lessons at a local lycée.
During the rest of their time in Paris, the pupils visited the famous historical attractions they have learnt about in lessons.
Some of the amazing sights they saw included the Eiffel Tower, Sacré-Cœur, the Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame and the Catacombes.
Although the highlight for many was undoubtedly the day spent at Euro-Disney.
Pupils thoroughly enjoyed putting into practice the linguistic skills they had learnt in lessons and returned with a renewed confidence in their ability to communicate in French.
