Christmas concert brings festive spirit to school

Heralding the start of the festive season, the Christmas Concert provided a musical feast for the sell-out audience.

Opening the festivities with a range of lively pieces including Sesame Street Celebration and Theme from Mission Impossible was Concert Band, conducted by Mrs TaylorThe audience were then enthralled by an a cappella performance of White Winter Hymnal, with body percussion, by the Sixth Form Vocalists.

Brass Ensemble, conducted by Mrs Johnson, followed by Big Band’s accomplished Let it Snow! brought the first half to a close. 

After the interval, Wind Orchestra performed The Hunger Games and Cartoon Express, followed by the traditional annual rendition of Sleigh Ride, complete with sleigh bells.

Christmas Concert

Junior Chamber Choir sang Shenandoah, Blue Mountain River and then Carol of the Bells, showcasing the singing talent in the Lower School. Guitar Ensemble followed with a trio of medleys. 

Chamber Choir concluded what had been a ‘cracker’ of a night by wishing everyone A Merry Christmas, a favourite among the musicians and audience alike.
