Acclaimed author delights Junior School pupils

Pupils got a fascinating insight into the life of a writer when Curtis Jobling paid a visit to the Junior School.

Mr Jobling, who is best known for his role as production designer on kids TV show ‘Bob the Builder’, spoke to children in Years 3, 4 and 6 about how he got into writing and illustrating.

He showed them how he came up with ideas for the characters and gave them a live demonstration, drawing Bob and his friends as well as Raa Raa the Noisy Lion, the star of a CBeebies TV show that he also produces.

Mr Jobling told pupils that as writing is his biggest passion he doesn’t feel that he works for a living and he encouraged them to always keep up with their hobbies.

The visit ended with Mr Jobling reading an excerpt from his latest book, ‘Max Hesling – Monster Hunter’ before he signed copies for pupils.
