Third year pupil Eve Cox has been making waves in synchronised swimming circles after being named in the North West Development squad.
The keen swimmer, whose favourite subjects are Art, PE and Life Studies, got into the sport three years ago after watching the synchro squad training at her local pool.
She recently travelled to the Olympic Park in London to watch the European Synchro Championships and the trip was inspirational for her as the very next day she took part in the North West regional trials and got selected.
Eve, who trains three to four times a week, said: “Ever since I was young I have enjoyed being underwater and daring to try new things. The trip to London gave me the chance to be inspired and take some ideas back to my team.
“The school has helped me in many ways. It has given me the opportunity to swim every Tuesday lunchtime to keep up my fitness and also provided great moral support by wishing me luck before competitions.”
Eve, who has previously taken part in nationals, Scottish nationals and regionals, is looking forward to working with, and being part of, the development squad and we wish her all the best for her efforts in and out of the pool!
