The Junior School held their first ever Performing Arts Festival in the Senior School Hall.
The event, which had an audience of over 150 people, kicked off with the Year 5 and Year 6 vocalists singing ‘Somewhere’ and ‘Electricity’. Next up Years 3 and 4 delivered a speech and drama piece and this was swiftly followed by Year 5 showing off their dance moves.
We got back to the vocal acts with the Year 3 and Year 4 ‘singing for fun’ group whilst the Year 3 and 4 speech and drama pupils got their second outing of the spectacular.
Proceedings concluded with the orchestra playing a piece by Haydn and ABBA’s classic ‘Thank You For The Music’.
Explaining the reason to hold the Performing Arts Festival, Junior School Headmaster Mr Wheeler said: “The Festival grew out of a desire to give parents an opportunity to see a little more of what we do in school in a relaxed atmosphere and to create an event where children can experience performance who might otherwise never get that chance.
“The performances of each and every one of the children was fantastic and we received lots of very appreciative comments.”
