Third year pupil Cam Wylie is dancing with joy after being accepted onto The Lowry Centre for Advanced Training Scheme.
Cam, who has taken part in school dance shows and plays, wowed judges in the audition process with his agility and performance.
The training scheme, which is a part time pre-vocational course, offers places to young people who demonstrate exceptional potential, commitment and enthusiasm in dance.
Cam, who wants to work in contemporary dance or in the West End when he leaves school, will be training at The Lowry on Thursday evenings and Saturdays.
“Being accepted onto The Lowry Centre for Advanced Training Scheme is a great opportunity and it gives me more chance to develop my career in dance.” Cam said.
“I have started the training already and I can’t wait to take more classes. There is a mix of boys and girls on the course and I am sure that I will learn a lot.”
Dance teacher Mrs Abi Downing is pleased that his talent has been spotted: “Cam is a great dancer and it has been a joy to work with him for our dance shows. His commitment is impressive and it is great that he will be able to continue to work on his undoubted ability on a much respected training scheme.”
