The 1st XV have been putting the finishing touches to their preparations for this Sunday’s Cheshire Cup final.
The squad kicked off their Cheshire Cup campaign with a dominant display against Wirral Grammar School as they secured a 30 point victory with a 54-24 score line.
They then faced King’s School, Macclesfield and it was a much closer affair with our boys emerging victorious 18-15 courtesy of tries from George Lyth and Tom Travis and points from the boot of Pat Chatterton.
Speaking ahead of the cup decider, head of rugby Mr Hugo Corbett said: “The boys targeted reaching the Cheshire Cup final at the start of the school year and they have worked extremely hard to achieve this goal. The opportunity to play in a premiership stadium is one that the boys will relish and we are all really looking forward to the experience.”
Our under 14 rugby boys also have a Cheshire Cup final to look forward to as they face King’s School, Macclesfield at Burnage Rugby Club on 5 January.
