The Music department took the short journey up the A6 to St George’s Church to perform in the annual Spring Concert recently.
The programme featured a traditional range of choral and instrumental repertoire suitable for the grandeur of the church.
Junior Chamber Choir opened the programme with performances of ‘Day by Day’, ‘Now the Green Blade Rises’ and ‘Wayfaring Stranger’.
This was followed by upper sixth pupil Jo Brown performing the beautiful first movement of the ‘Vaughan Williams Oboe Concerto’ with String Orchestra.
Chamber Choir sounded wonderful performing perennial favourite ‘Panis Angelicus’, along with a selection of a cappella works.
The second half featured Chorus performing the ever popular ‘Vivaldi Gloria’, with Georgia Curwen, Caitlin Cutts, Niamh Johnson, Elsa Shah and Zoe Shah performing the solo movements.
