Pupils have a cracking time in the capital

Year six pupils had a busy and enjoyable couple of days visiting the highlights of London and touring the Harry Potter Studios.

It was an early start for the boys and girls but they arrived In London by midday and had a guided tour and walk around the exhibition at The Globe Theatre before tucking into some food on the Southbank.

The pupils were able to walk off their food as they went for a lovely stroll from Buckingham Palace, through St. James’s Park, past Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey. In the evening the children enjoyed a fabulous West End show, Matilda, which everyone agreed was fantastic.

The second day really was ‘magic’ with a visit to the Harry Potter Studios where the children were treated like VIPs, skipping the long queues, having a special room opened up for lunch and given lots of mementoes from the day. Finally, although not via platform 9 ¾, the children arrived back at school, exhausted but full of exciting stories to share.

Darcy Breen said of the trip: “London was amazing! We saw Big Ben and Buckingham Palace and they were incredible! Matilda the musical was outstanding and if you haven’t seen it already, I would recommend you go. I especially liked the Harry Potter Studios – it was spellbinding!”

Callum Horsley added: “I loved the London trip so much, I think it’s the best school trip yet! Matilda was amazing and the Harry Potter Studios was the best!”
