Cheshire Cup campaign gets underway for cricket teams

The summer term welcomes in the cricket season and our boys have got it off to a positive start with a number of victories in the Cheshire Cup.

The U15 XI defeated Wilmslow High School and will face Altrincham Grammar School in round two whilst the U14 XI also beat the same opposition to reach the quarter final where they will play either Tytherington School or Sandbach School.

The U12 XI beat St Ambrose College and now play Sandbach School in the quarter final whilst the U13 XI lost to Cheadle Hulme School in round one.

For their Cheshire Cup games, the pupils were wearing their newly sponsored shirts courtesy of Gleave Homes, a bespoke residential development company.

The boys will continue to look the part in their sponsored cricket whites as they progress through a season which includes games against other schools, an Old Stops’ team and a tour to Trent College.

Mr Jimmy Ormond, Head of Cricket, said: “We have an exciting few months of cricket ahead as boys of all ages take to the field. We have a strong programme of fixtures that will provide great tests for the lads and I am looking forward to seeing their development throughout the year.

“We would like to thank Gleave Homes for their generous sponsorship and we look forward to scoring lots of runs and taking lots of wickets whilst we are wearing the sponsored kit!”
