Prizegiving celebrates the Junior School year

Pupils, parents and governors gathered for an evening of music, celebration and reflection as the Junior School Prizegiving brought the year to a close.

Vice-Chairman of Governors Philip Cuddy spoke to welcome the audience before the orchestra displayed their skills with ‘Habanera’ by Bizet.

The choir enjoyed their chance to show their musical talents with two contrasting pieces, ‘Sing a Jubilant Song’ by Dave and Jean Perry and ‘The Lord Bless You and Keep You’ by Rutter.

This year’s Guest of Honour was Wendy Tarplee-Morris who started The Little Princess Trust with Simon Tarplee in 2006 in memory of their daughter, Hannah. She spoke about the work of the charity and thanked the pupils and parents for the support they have given.

Mrs Tarplee-Morris presented trophies for academic and co-curricular achievements and each of the Year Six pupils received the leaving gift of a book as they move on to senior school.

Headmaster Tim Wheeler spoke about the school year and his pride in the pupils whilst Head Girl Libby Goodman and Head Boy Callum Horsley talked about their enjoyment of school life and the many happy memories they will take with them as they move to senior school.
