Twenty teams of keen golfers took to the course on Thursday 14th June at Stockport Golf Club for the annual Stockport Grammar School Bursary Golf Day in association with Brewin Dolphin.
It is our goal to offer as many local children as possible the opportunity to come to Stockport Grammar School regardless of their family’s ability to pay the fees, by supporting their education with a means-tested bursary. The Bursary Golf Day, now in its 14th year donates all of the day’s profits to supporting the Bursary Fund, this year raising over £8,000.
Despite a rather blustery morning, by tee time the wind had calmed and the sun started to shine as the teams embarked on their 18 holes for a superb round on one of Cheshire’s premier golf venues. Congratulations to the team from SAS Daniels who won the competition with 84 points, Littlewoods Butchers who took second place with 82 points and Offshoot who came in third with 80 points. Congratulations also to Matthew Atkinson who won the Longest Drive at the 10th hole and to Ian Smith who won the Nearest the Pin at the 16th.
We would like to thank all who supported and sponsored the day and we look forward to next year’s event; 10 architect, AC Electrical, Axis Cleaning & Support Services, Bettaveg, Bramhall Park Golf Club, Brewin Dolphin, Booth Ainsworth, Bullocks Coaches, Chariot Office Supplies, Computer England, Fineprint, Flueclean, F.R.
