| Signing Up |
BronzeIf you are in the Third Year at Stockport Grammar School, we enrol new participants in May each year. Dates are publicised in the school diary, on the intranet and notice boards. This is a compulsory evening which pupils AND their parents must attend if they wish to be considered for the scheme. The cost in the current year 2009 is £65 but is likely to increase to £100 from 1st April 2010. SilverPupils need to decide if they want to continue with the award at Silver following Bronze and hand in a completed enrolment and trips permission form by 1st May 2010. The cost for 2009 will be £30. Price increases will take effect from 1st April, with prices still to be agreed. It is essential that pupils sign up by this point as expedition training starts very soon afterwards. If this deadline is missed they can start the other 3 sections of the award but will be unable to undertake the expedition section with their peers. If a pupil has not done Bronze and has attended Stockport Grammar School and wishes to go direct in at Silver, the cost will be £65. These pupils MUST attend the Bronze enrolment evening in May 2010. If a pupil has done Bronze out of school and wishes to complete the silver at Stockport Grammar School, the cost of enrolment will be £40 (price will be increased from 1st April 2010). Pupils must also attend the Bronze enrolment evening in May 2010. GoldIf pupils want to go on to Gold and have done Bronze / Silver at Stockport Grammar School, the cost will be £30. If pupils want to go in and do Gold direct, the cost will be £65. If a pupil has done Silver out of school or transfers, the cost will be £40. Note you cannot start your Gold until you are 16 but you can fill in an application form and fill in all the required paperwork beforehand. All Gold pupils MUST have signed up by end of summer term 2010 if they wish to do their expeditions at Stockport Grammar School. Silver / GoldFor those who are moving straight on to the next level of the award at SGS. Application forms are available from a folder outside T4 and then completed forms should be returned to the appropriate labeled folder or handed in at the club to R Groves or s Brown. A pupil must then see a member of staff at the D of E club to get started on their various sections. Pupils must also complete a trip permission form. These are colour coded blue for Silver and red for Gold. Please take the correct one, fully complete it and return with payment and application form. |
