Whilst designed primarily for new applicants and new entrants to Stockport Grammar School, I hope that the parents of all current pupils may find the 2009-2010 version of our ‘Further Information’ booklet a useful summary and reminder of our aims and the key principles which underlie what we offer girls and boys on a daily basis.

The school website contains a great deal of additional information. Amongst the most important key documents are our policies relating to child protection, the prevention of bullying, pupil discipline, full information on examination results, staff lists, uniform requirements and the current terms and conditions. Details of our admissions and bursary procedures can be found, together with copies of my termly letters containing discussion of such topical issues as internet safety and flu pandemics.

The School Complaints Policy can be found on the website and is, of course, available on request to any parent wishing to register a concern on an informal or formal basis. Should parents wish to contact the Chairman of Governors, Mr R.L.E. Rimmington, they may do so at the School’s address.

Additional policies cover a wide range of regulatory requirements from particulars of the curriculum to exclusions, health and safety on school visits and the welfare arrangements for pupils with special educational needs. Each document can be obtained on request from either the Headmaster or Bursar or is available for inspection during school hours. All policies are regularly reviewed and updated where appropriate. Observations and suggestions from parents are always welcomed.

Yours sincerely

AH CHICKEN
