Stockport Grammar School staff are heading back out to Sierra Leone

Mr Heyes and Mr Ehegartner will be visiting our partner school Educaid Sierra Leone (www.educaid.org.uk) this October half-term. Mr Heyes will be working with the Science department and he will be focusing on the practical side of their Chemistry lessons. Mr Ehegartner will be accompanied by Mr Dan Vernon from Dan Vernon Photography (www.danvernonphotography.com). They will be developing educational resources to be used in Life Studies lessons and creating photojournalism stories that provide insight to a day in the life of a Sierra Leonean Child post-civil war.

As you may be aware, Stockport Grammar School has been working with Educaid for the past seven years and the relationship keeps getting stronger. Video-linked lessons, shared resources and a visit by one of Educaid’s former pupils to SGS are just some of the ways in which children at both schools have gained a deeper understanding of each other’s lives. If you would like to help aid or support the development of our partnership, please feel free to contact Mr Heyes (heyesr@stockportgrammar.co.uk) or Mr Ehegartner (ehegartnera@stockportgrammar.co.uk). Any materials or donations are appreciated and will aid in the educational development for both our pupils and theirs.
