A fabulous festive time was had by all who attended the Stopfordian Parents’ Association Christmas fair on Saturday, which raised money to help support school projects and the Salvation Army.
The dining hall was filled with a fantastic variety of stalls – from cakes and chocolate fountains, to books, tombolas and gifts – and the sound of Christmas carols played by the Salvation Army brass band.
The children enjoyed visiting Santa, playing games, having their faces painted and skating on our very own ice rink in the quad.
Delicious food and drink were in plentiful supply throughout the afternoon and into the evening when the rink was opened to the Senior School children for a skating party.
The SPA would like to say a big thank you to all those who helped to make the fair a huge success. Proceeds from the day will be split between SPA funds for internal school projects to benefit the children and the Salvation Army.
The SPA’s various fundraising events over the last 12 months have raised over £15,000, enabling it to contribute £12,000 to the new school minibus, £2,000 to the bursary fund, £500 to the Salvation Army and £400 to the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust, as well as provide equipment for various extracurricular clubs.
The money the SPA raises really does make a difference – not only to our children’s educational experience, but also to worthwhile local causes. Thank you for all your support.
