The sun shone throughout this year’s parents’ association summer fair as children and their families helped raise cash for local charity Children’s Adventure Farm Trust and school funds.
This year’s fair had a fairground theme with plenty of rides for the children to enjoy alongside the traditional coconut shy, sponge the parent, tin-can alley, penny arcade, hook-a-duck, face painting and jar hoopla stalls.
As well as the fairground, our infants paraded in their fancy dress costumes with Senior School headmaster Mr Andrew Chicken choosing the winners, Mr Dan taught the children circus skills and parents enjoyed a barbecue with their afternoon tea.
Profits from the fair will be split between Stopfordian Parents’ Association funds for school enrichment projects and the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust, a local charity which provides holidays and activities for terminally ill, chronically sick, disabled and disadvantaged children in the north-west. It is hoped that some of the Junior School children will be able to personally deliver a cheque to the farm before the end of term.
The SPA would like to thank all the parents and staff who helped with the preparation for the fair and on the day itself, and to everybody who came along and joined in with the fun!
