Our U14 netball squad are through to the next round of the National Schools competition after being undefeated in Saturday’s games.
Coming first out of 18 schools, our enthusiastic team won the Greater Manchester round of the National Schools competition at Wright Robinson on Saturday 14th November.
The competition was tough, they began by winning the group stage beating St Peter’s 14-5, Wright Robinson 9-6, Bolton School 15-5 and drawing with Cheadle Hulme School 4-4.
In the semi-final they faced Oldham Hulme, losing 3-2 at half time. However they turned the game around and won 7-4. They progressed into the final with Bury Grammar and Loreto the top two teams would be going through to the next round.
The girls played some amazing netball in difficult weather conditions and beat Loreto 14-9 and Bury Grammar School 9-6 to win the competition.

The girls have attended training every week with Mrs Maskery and Mr Harper and it was fabulous to see the hard work pay off.
This is another great achievement for the school’s netballers following on from the success of sisters Beth and Megan Taylor who were chosen to play for their regional squads last month.
Amazing few weeks of sport
The girls’ win came in an amazing week of sport at Stockport Grammar. Fifth year footballer Will Callan has been selected to represent ISFA North in the U16 squad against ISFA South. Our U18 hockey squad are through to the next round of the National Schools’ Tournament at Leeds and a huge congratulations to our 1st XV rugby team who won 12-10 in round 3 of the rugby Natwest Cup against QEGS Ashbourne.
